LGBTQ+ Counselling
Everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. However, finding a therapist who is knowledgeable about the unique experiences of the LGBTQ+/SOGIE community can be challenging.
How I can help
As a psychologist who focuses on working with the LGBTQ+ population, I am dedicated to providing you with a supportive and inclusive space. LGBTQ+ issues being a focus of my practice means that I take trainings, do readings, engage in community events, and receive consultation to best support you. It also means that I know the difference between gender and sexuality, and I won’t struggle to use your pronouns.
Together, we can:
Navigate the process and potential challenges of coming out
Explore your gender identity
Work through relationship and family dynamics
Work through feelings of shame resulting from negative social attitudes
We can also explore any other topic that brings you to therapy that’s not specifically related to being LGBTQ+, like anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, all within an affirming and supportive context.
My approach
My approach to therapy is based on creating a collaborative and empowering relationship together. Throughout therapy, we will work towards creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. All of you is welcome here, exactly as you are.
